For the last two years a Wilkes-Barre Township resident has been on a smile mission. And that smile mission is called NYC Smile 4 Me. Chris Bohinski, also known as Boh the Smile Guy, created NYC Smile 4 Me to share the things that make folks smile. As his website states, “NYC Smile 4 Me's mission is to spread happiness, positivity, and joy by chronicling Boh the Smile Guy asking the same 4-word question to everyone he meets, “What makes you smile?” When someone shares the thing that makes them smile, Bohinski calls that their #SmileStory.

One of the most popular aspects of this smile mission is a video web series that follows Boh the Smile Guy asking that 4-word question on numerous red carpets at film premieres, Broadway show opening nights, award shows, philanthropic events, and black-tie galas. Bohinski has interviewed people like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rosie Perez, Helen Mirren, and Morgan Freeman. On special occasions Boh the Smile Guy’s mom, Momma Boh, joins him as a co-host. Some of the guests during these mother-son duo #SmileStory videos have been Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Derulo, and Hayley Mills.

NYC Smile 4 Me also shares the #SmileStory smiles of others across other various mediums including printed articles and radio segments. Because of his efforts to share his smile mission with his hometown, Bohinski was presented with an official mayoral Proclamation of Appreciation that declared Smile Day in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania on October 21, 2017. Smile Day included a capstone free fall festival event with free food & games that over 500 people attended!
