United We Stand

Just a few hours after getting a production job on the then brand new National Geographic Channel's "Breakthrough Series," I found myself needing to inform the director that one of the actors did not show up to set. Of course when I approached him with this news, I also made an off the cuff remark about how I could take the actor's place. He laughed a bit. I just silently stood there and smiled. He then responded with, "Have you ever read from a teleprompter?" Of course I was honest with him and said, "No, but I'm ready to start." I was placed in front of the cameras with no rehearsal and then they began to roll. The truly special thing about this for me was that this episode, filmed for such an iconic and revered network, was created to respectfully explore September 11th, 2001 and it's effect on the human mind. So today, and always, I remember the lives that were affected that fateful day and am honored that I was able to contribute to their memory in this way. United We Stand. 🇺🇸
