Pope Smiles!

Exactly 3 years ago, I was among the throngs of people standing along the sidewalks of NYC waiting for Pope Francis to drive by in his black Fiat. As with most happenings like this, the Pope was a bit delayed. So what did I do? I began taking selfies! HAHA! A few more minutes had passed and then my phone began to buzz & ding. Sometime during my personal selfie-shoot, a professional photographer secretly snapped this photo of me. It was titled "Excitement for the Pope" & was posted by many of the New York newspapers' online portals as they were doing a play-by-play anticipating the Pope's arrival. I never did find out if they knew I was taking a selfie or if it was my neon orange sweatshirt that drew their eye to me. In any case, this surely was a #SmileStory moment for me. 🕊🙏😊
