A Proclamation

WHEREAS, Barbara Bohinski and her son Christopher James Bohinski are hereby recognized for the creation and continuation of Smile Day. Smile Day is an all-inclusive, non-profitable event that encourages Wyoming Valley residents and non-residents of all ages to attend. Just as it is free to share your smile with anyone, Smile Day is absolutely free for everyone! Smile Day includes free games, prizes, sporting events, music, dancing, food, awards, and more all because of the generosity of area businesses and individuals who donate time, goods, and monetary funds.; and,

WHEREAS, Chris, also known as Boh the Smile Guy, is the creator of the smile mission NYC Smile 4 Me. NYC Smile 4 Me's mission is to spread happiness, positivity, & joy by chronicling Boh the Smile Guy asking the same 4-word question, “What makes you smile?” to everyone he meets. A #SmileStory is his way of recognizing and sharing each of those unique responses. Along with a web series that showcases him and Momma Boh interviewing people on the red carpet at opening nights and philanthropic events, Boh the Smile Guy also shares unique #SmileStory contributions across other mediums including print, radio, and television.; and,

WHEREAS, Barbara Bohinski and the late Dr. Stanley T. Bohinski have three children: Dr. Chesla Ann Lenkaitis with husband Anthony and son AJ, Dr. Timothy Blaise Bohinski with wife Selena and son Blaise, and son Christopher James Bohinski. Barbara is a retired registered nurse who worked most recently at her husband’s family practice in northeastern Pennsylvania.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED THAT I,ANTHONY G. GEORGE, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF WILKES-BARRE,do hereby proclaim October 20, 2018 as “SMILE DAY”

And, I urge all citizens of Wilkes-Barre to share and spread smiles within our community.
