Fire Smiles

While visiting Grandma Boh in her nursing home this evening, it was announced that there was a fire in their laundry room. After helping move half of the residents outside as per their initial request, I asked the firemen if we can begin to fill up the activity room with the other half of the residents because it was getting dark & a bit windier. He agreed. It was quite the scene inside after getting all of the residents jam-packed into this activity room especially since this fire fiasco interrupted their dinner. So what did I do to try and help the situation? I began singing! I initially began with Jingle Bell Rock and then began taking requests. As I was leaving to go home, I was approached by the nursing home’s staff and was thanked immensely for turning this once loud & chaotic room into a calm concert hall. They couldn’t believe how quiet I got the residents…and I sort of couldn’t either! And then guess what? I was offered a full-time position as their activities director! I politely declined but could not stop smiling because of this truly unexpected #SmileStory! 🔥🚒🧯🚨👨‍🚒
