This may be TMI for some. Others will hopefully find it just as funny as mom & I do. Read at your own risk. 🚽
Especially during these last few weeks while mom’s been recovering in the hospital, I have tried extra more to make her laugh. Well, the other night, I unintentionally did that & then some.
It was later in the evening and I had already finished my $1 drink from McDonald’s. I was thirsty and didn’t feel like leaving the room to get another, so I just grabbed one of the water bottles off of mom’s bedside table. She was sleeping, but I knew she wouldn’t have a problem with me taking one of them. While drinking it, I thought to myself, “This is just not hitting the spot.” But I figured it wasn’t because I’ve been on a strict diet of coffee & diet soda the past few days. LOL!
Well a short while later, and here’s where the TMI comes into play, I started getting the worst stomach pains I have ever felt. I won’t go into specifics but I will liken the next few hours to that very funny scene from Dumb & Dumber where Harry needs to excuse himself & rush to the bathroom. If you’re still not getting where I’m going with this...let’s just say I later found out from mom’s nurse that that water bottle was mixed with mom’s “special stuff” for her own digestive needs.
I fair-warned you in the beginning this may be TMI for some, but this is my truth. And I think a particularly quite funny one. HAHA! Never in a million years did I prepare myself for something like this to happen, but it just goes to show that sometimes the funniest moments are the unexpected ones. (It wasn’t too funny in the moment, but in retrospect it sure is.) Life is full of surprises & serendipity and I’m trying my best to embrace it all. I do hope this little story may give you your very own #SmileStory of the day because it sure has lightened the mood here at the hospital. 💩
