How 6 dieters shed a collective 135 lbs just in time for summer

On New Year’s Day, The Post began a five-month diet challenge. We provided six local readers looking to lose weight with the latest diet books and gym memberships to New York Sports Club.

Now, our dieters are ready to reveal their impressive — and inspiring — results.

 

Chris Bohinski, 24
 
  • Lost 51 pounds
  • Height: 6-foot-4
  • Before weight: 260 lbs.
  • After weight: 209 lbs.

Bohinski moved to Union City, NJ, from Pennsylvania last April with dreams of becoming a Broadway star — but his waistline was holding him back.

 

That’s no longer a problem for the aspiring actor, who shed 51 pounds plus 9 inches off his waist.

 

“I’m getting new head shots so I can be accurately portrayed when I submit [my photo] for a role,” he says.

 

Bohinski’s had two events to motivate him — his brother tied the knot in April, and his sister’s wedding is in July.

 

Modal Trigger“I love dancing, so being able to move quicker on the wedding dance floor is always a plus!”

His diet book: “The 20/20 Diet” by Dr. Phil McGraw (Bird Street Books, $26)

This diet limits consumption to 20 key ingredients — such as apples, chickpeas, lentils and eggs — that studies indicate may enhance heat production to help dieters feel full.

Book grade: A- The recipes are “nutritionally dense and offer a variety of tastes,” he says.
